Who killed a young girl in Central Park? That’s the question at the heart of the new mystery thriller series, “City on Fire.”
As seen in the trailer for the Apple TV+ series, the show follows the story of a group of friends trying to figure out why their friend, Samantha, was shot and killed. As they dig deeper into the case, they uncover more secrets that point to even bigger problems. And, since this is a bit of a whodunnit, there are clearly quite a few red herrings spread around to keep viewers guessing.

The new series stars Wyatt Oleff, Chase Sui Wonders, Jemima Kirke, Nico Tortorella, Ashley Zukerman, and John Cameron Mitchell. “City on Fire” is written and produced by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage. The duo is probably best known for working on series such as “Gossip Girl” and “The O.C.”

Here’s the synopsis:
In “City on Fire,” an NYU student is shot in Central Park on the Fourth of July, 2003. Samantha is alone; there are no witnesses and very little physical evidence. Her friends’ band is playing at her favorite downtown club but she leaves to meet someone, promising to return. She never does. As the crime against Samantha is investigated, she’s revealed to be the crucial connection between a series of mysterious citywide fires, the downtown music scene, and a wealthy uptown real estate family fraying under the strain of the many secrets they keep.
