Has there ever been more badass director than Werner Herzog? I don't mean the quality of his films, because there's surely many directors that have done better work, but as badassery goes, I think Herzog is at least in the all-time top 5, if not number one.

The Way of the Gun was one of the best films of the year. Never understood how he didn't get more work after that. Box office didn't help but he mad a great, classic film.
