While your passion is clear, MWARD, your statements are more chilling than Von Trier's because yours are not intended to be funny (unless they are, then by all means, go ahead and say that). You yourself acknowledge that "he can't talk in public, especially when the media is present." He could decide to say each of George Carlin's 7 bad words, along with some choice additions, and what's it to you? If it makes you not want to see his films, fine, don't. If you choose to be offended by the words he uses, okay, be offended if you choose. But if you take away the context of how and why it was said, being that he made a (really stupid and unfunny) joke, then you too are guilty of over-reacting. The comment I was going to make when I read the exact "(and blown out of proportion)" editorial comment was going to be that it's about 6 months too late to say that and be relevant. I raised an eyebrow when I read it, precisely because coverage of that press conference during Cannes rarely if ever acknowledged the over-reaction. "anytime you talk about Hitler sympathetically in front of the press, representing every corner of the globe, you're asking for it!"? Remind me to never meet you and your idealogues in a dark alley! "the Jewish people or anyone else don't care to REALLY understand his methodology . And this is coming from someone(myself) who is not Jewish at all."? Who appointed you their spokesperson then? "It is a contradiction to want to be a Jew then say you understand Hitler." Do you understand the definition of the word 'contradiction' and how you're misusing it here? And most chillingly, "It's people like you and the author who confuse interesting with insanity and delusion. No one needs to hear the remarks that Von Trier said, keep those to your self."? Maybe you're not American, but in the U.S., the freedom to say whatever dipsiht nonsense you want, whether you mean it or not, is our right and limiting it because of personal offense is insufficient as an excuse. Rush Limbaugh is a drug-addict windbag arse puck who spews more methane-infused bull chips than Ferdinand, but I grant him the right to be one, just as you should let Lars Von Trier shoot himself in the face in front of the press whenever he damn well pleases, and if you don't wanna hear about him doing it, take my advice – tune it out and spare us the (over)reaction.

In response to Wade's comment. It is a contradiction to want to be a Jew then say you understand Hitler. No Jew understands Hitler other than realizing he's a Psychopath who could of done something positive in the world and secondly, the Jewish people or anyone else don't care to REALLY understand his methodology . And this is coming from someone(myself) who is not Jewish at all. And as far as "people like me" who make it possible for anybody like Von Trier to say anything interesting your wrong! It's people like you and the author who confuse interesting with insanity and delusion. No one needs to hear the remarks that Von Trier said, keep those to your self. I don't care to how you understand Hitler, what does that have to do with your movie? Stay on track! This is why he banned himself from speaking in front of large groups of media. He can't even trust himself or his mouth.

Did you say Von Trier's comment on Nazi's was (blown out of proportion). First he said that he really wanted to be a Jew, then he says says he thinks he understands Hitler and where he was coming from. Talk about a big contradiction! And anytime you talk about Hitler sympathetically in front of the press, representing every corner of the globe, you're asking for it! The man, whether you like his movies or not, has a signature vision as a filmmaker, but he can't talk in public, especially when the media is present. Unfortunately, his common sense isn't so common.
