There once was a Senator from Mass.
Who wanted a new piece of a**
He lucked up and found her
He f**ked up and drowned her
Now his chance to be president has passed

I was taken back by Kevin's comment that the slower news cycle of the 1960's was responsible for the press not picking over and scrutinizing this story back then. Kevin, I assumed, must be too young to have been around back then. I checked his profile and indeed he does not appear to be out of his thirties. Too bad he didn't take the time to talk to people who were around when this happened. Ted Kennedy was given a pass because he was a Kennedy. Plain and simple. There was a great deal of information about what occurred which the press willfully ignored. Even the settlement with the Kopechne's family was kept confidential. The press was complicit in burying the story in order to preserve the Kennedy brand. Ted Kennedy was a spoiled, cowardly, womanizing, alcoholic who was protected by the press and the east coast liberal establishment anxious to hang on to the last vestige of "Camelot" and not see another Kennedy assassinated, even if this time it was only a career that would be destroyed. Would the same thing happen today? Would the press still go out of their way to suppress negative publicity or even attack the source of the publicity in order to protect a politician who shared their political values? Sure, it might be harder with more alternative news sources but, contrary to what you expressed, not that much has changed in the past fifty years Kevin.

Drunk-spoiled brat-boy Teddie redeemed himself by becoming a water-carrying SOB for the Left. His accusations of racism against the great and honorable human being, Judge Bork, shows what a sack of scheiss this Massa2shits human scum was. Hope this waste of God's protoplasm is rotting in hell. I bet this movie makes him look sympathetic. What a racist sewer Hollywood is. Making a god-like hero out of Jimi Hendrix, making a hellish demon out of Jim Morrison. Both of them were drug OD's.
