Sorry, @Bud, that wasn\’t a rant, and if you read the comments in any article on here about Stewart, they\’re always filled with her fans over the top praise of her one note acting. You ought to know, since you have to wave her Cesaar at me (as if that really meant something, lol). No one in the US cares about it, they only gave it to her because they wanted publicity for a foreign award that no Americans are even aware of. She has an aggressive PR rep who has leveraged the award for more than it\’s worth, so their strategy paid off. If they had given it to the more worthy French actress, no one would have even known they had a ceremony. LOL, with Chanel throwing money at Assayas, why wouldn\’t he cast her again? Plus, her own PR team gets more publicity for his films than anyone else would – it\’s a win/win for both of them. I don\’t see Speilberg, Nolan or Russell rushing to cast her in anything. There\’s a reason she\’s making foreign indies and taking supporting roles in low budget indies in the US. It\’s not too difficult to figure out.

Rosie, why would you feel the need to post a rant about an actress who wasn\’t even in a high profile film to be considered in the first place? Your spite rings especially hollow when put in the context of her winning best supporting actress in France last year (the first American to ever do so) for The Clouds Of Sils Maria. And that the director of that film, one of the most brilliant working today, has chosen her as the lead in his next film.

Funny that the Globes snubbed Kristen Stewart and so did the SAG awards. Aren\’t they aware that she\’s the most brilliant actress of her generation? With all the range she\’s shown, playing one angsty/sad/hipster after the other? And all the accents she can do–oh wait. But the way she creates a real, different character every time, oh wait. I guess OscarStew will not be seen this year. Srsly, congratulations to the women who were nominated for Best Supporting Actress, they\’ve all turned in extraordinary performances, they didn\’t just play themselves yet again. Alicia Vikander showed more range as a robot than Stewart has ever shown in any film in her entire career (and her peers know it).

I noticed no Sicario too. But Benicio was always a long shot. Besides, without tech awards, there\’s not much it would\’ve gotten nomed for. Hopefully at Oscars it picks up Cinematography and Score noms. Maybe sound.
