Despite loads of critical acclaim, love from Film Twitter, and accolades near and far, fans of “Carol” were stunned when the Academy Award nominations were announced earlier this month, and the film missed both Best Picture and Best Director. However, it nonetheless earned six nominations and with the ceremonies now a month away, let’s go back in time a bit.

In November, just as the awards season was getting into full swing, director Todd Haynes joined fellow filmmaker and friend Kelly Reichardt for a conversation about the film in New York City following a DGA screening of the movie, and now that talk has landed online for you to enjoy.
