Because of his refusal to "play ball" with the music business practice of extortion, theft of publishing/royalties and the overtly progressive/empowering messages that he'd begun to implement into his music, Sam was drugged, beaten, then shot and killed and his body was deposited in that doorway. He was killed over the usual, his publishing and rights to his music. His family was left out in the cold, now Klein gets to tell the falsified version of events now that those involved in the truth are either too old or long dead. Shameful.
