So if the sound mix was fixed, Maybe it was done that way to make you apart ofthe bus ride action like you are on the bus yourself. Would you have enjoyed it more? also if it wasn't directed by gondry but some new director and this was his first film would you think it was a promising work of a new director? I will admit it is interesting that Gondry tends to find interest in urban milieus which is a bit strange but at least he is willing to experiment and try different things outside of his element. I don't know i might hate the film but i will give it a shot

I absolutely agree that everything he's done since has sucked, but I don't think it's fair to say that all credit for 'Eternal Sunshine' must go to Kaufman. It's an incredibly visually inventive film and belongs with Gondry's excellent music videos. Not that I've seen a script, but it's obviously very different from the Jonze Kaufmans that preceded it.
