This film may be bad, which is unfortunate, but I\'m interested to see something in 3d that doesn\'t use it as an overdone gimmick, and reviewers have been no help in this, as they seem to go out of their way to contradict themselves -- If filmmakers are too up front about the use of 3d, then \'it\'s tacky. \' If they keep it subtle, then: \'what\'s the point of filming it in 3d?\' It reminds me of Annie Hall: \"two elderly women are at a Catskill mountain resort, and one of \'em says, \"Boy, the food at this place is really terrible.\" The other one says, \"Yeah, I know; and such small portions.\"

I look forward to the days when 3d is just as accepted as sound or color, and isn\'t just reviewed for it\'s novelty. I believe we\'ll have to have a no-glasses technology to pull off this transition, but that looks like it\'s on the way. In any case, even if Hara-Kiri isn\'t such a good picture, I\'m happy to hear of an artist trying to use 3d as just another element of the film, rather than than trying to \'justify\' its use somehow with technical stunts, which in years to come will more and more resemble the rainbow-porn years of early technicolor.

This is terrible news. I\'m not a Miike fan, but after seeeing the utter fantasticness of \"13 Assassins,\" I thought he might be on a bit of a roll.

Sigh...
