I think the main problem was there was no bromance chemistry between Owen and Crudup. I think Billy Crudup was miscast.

So only the men deserve praise in this movie? With FOUR women in semi-leading roles? That's not the film-maker — that's the reviewer, who is male. European films are more interested in character and art than Hollywood movies, which are all loud noises, explosions, assault weapons being fired, brawling fights, and fast paced action. This critic clearly thought the audience wouldn't sit still long enough to let the film and actors play out the plot.

I think the trailer looks amazing and I love Canet's film Little White Lies and it received lukewarm reviews from Critics also. So I'm still pretty confident about this movie. Especially if Marion Cotillard is in it , she never fails to amaze me
