Its fitting they interviewed Ron Meyer for this, the guy has made his career by making Universal into a Franchise factory which is talent-friendless and the less said about Avi Lerner the better. As for the Last Tango in Tikrit project, it was laughed out of every meeting they took here on the Croisette last year. One suspects most financiers thought it was an I'm Still Here esque joke or rather just a fake project to make this documentary more relevant

Seduced and Abandoned sounds like a compelling documentary about the deals made at film festivals. As a film fan without much knowledge of this aspect of the film world I look forward to watching this documentary.

At least they didn't fund it with Kickstarter,(I mean the doc., not the movie within the movie). The fact that multi-millionires continue to use Kcikstater to fund project is the real slap in the face, not a couple of industry vets schmoozing at Cannes (also if anyone could make that premise interesting its Alec Baldwin, he had a radio show on NPR for a while that was all showbiz interviews and was pretty fucking great).

Clearly this film is telling us some hard truths, like a $25 million sex drama starring Baldwin and Neve Campbell is hard to get off the ground. Shocker!
