The way some had discussed it before (years ago), the boos at Cannes aren’t the usual type associated with intense dislike of what they’re directed toward. I’m only going on recall of a conversation I wasn’t even part of to begin with, which is part of why I asked, but my understanding of it was that the boos were a good thing (bizarre as it is to write even now) when it came to Cannes.
