There are very few Mexicans living in Rome. On the other hand, while I haven't seen the movie yet, from your review I can tell you that for people in Jep's social caste there, Filippino is a byword for servant (but don't ask me how that come to be).

Those are not Mexicans you have seen. They were latin-american workers, from a number of countries, who in Italy work mostly in the elder healthcare and housekeeping business. You should watch more foreign movies. 🙂
