Already betting the hate for this film is nothing more than one big circle jerk. I’m sure once the film comes to theaters and more credible film critics get to see it, rather than the tryhard films snobs who flock to Cannes who only care about pretentious arthouse or foreign films, we’ll probably see more positive reviews.

I’m definitely not down with the claim that "Milk" is a bad Gus Van Sant movie. One of the best movies of its year, and a great film about social change over time.

I read the screenplay and loved it despite the heavy handed irony of the ending (which could have been improved upon and I thought it was). Still very much looking forward to seeing this despite the reviews. I’ll certainly see this before I’ll watch a dog get slaughtered in The Lobster.

I haven’t been to Cannes this year though the endless negative comments on this film made me real sad about Gus’s attempt as something completely suicidal and in a way incomprehensibly mysterious just as the name of the movie suggests. But still why? I don’t understand. Just plainly unable to.
