The Cannes critics were outrageously wrong about Hors Satan and I'm getting a sense of deja vu in these Post Tenebras Lux reviews.

Silent Night is stupefyingly overrated. Having said that, Reygadas is certainly a force to be reckoned with. Hopefully this will be a return to the supreme powerful form of Japon and not the misbegotten aesthetic confidence of SL.

Still holding out hope that it's great, however, this initial wave of skepticism is troubling. I however, didn't expect glowing raves out of the gate, so perhaps it'll all be good in the end.
