dont get the appeal of Gosling at all he bores me with his endless longing moody looks. I dont think he could carry a big film. Kristin though is always charismatic and lights up any scene she's in. Expect to see her do many great character roles in her older years.

'the mute brooding watchfulness' of Gosling. Does he do anything else these days? I'm finding it a little too complacent to be compelling. Meanwhile Kristin Scott Thomas continues to jump through hoops of fire. I guess movie actresses still have to work a whole lot harder than the leading men, though in another respect, it could be considered a leap forward, as it's now the men who just need to stand there and look pretty.
