Can holiday decorating go too far? Eddie Murphy stars in his first holiday-themed film, “Candy Cane Lane.” The project sees Murphy portray a father going overboard to win a neighborhood contest: what he doesn’t count on is an elf intent on causing trouble. Together, they set in motion events that will push the entire town into chaos. ‘Candy Cane’ represents a long overdue reunion between Murphy and the “Boomerang” team of director Reginald Hudlin and producer Brian Grazer. The actor works alongside talented performers, including Tracee Ellis Ross, Jillian Bell, Nick Offerman, and Robin Thede. Ellis Ross comes off a successful run on the series “Black-ish,” which ended in 2022; Bell has also experienced recent career highlights with performances in “Murder Mystery 2” and Mel Brooks’ “History of the World: Part II.”

Eddie Murphy stars in this holiday comedy adventure about a man on a mission to win his neighborhood’s annual Christmas home decoration contest. After Chris (Eddie Murphy) inadvertently makes a deal with a mischievous elf named Pepper (Jillian Bell) to better his chances of winning, she casts a magic spell that brings the 12 Days of Christmas to life and wreaks havoc on the whole town. At the risk of ruining the holidays for his family, Chris, his wife Carol (Tracee Ellis Ross), and their three children must race against the clock to break Pepper’s spell, battle deviously magical characters, and save Christmas for everyone.
