The scenes on Krypton and the scenes of Asgard are elevated in tone and language. When Superman and Thor make it to earth, the lighter tone and comedic touches ensue. It worked for Superman. I'm hoping it will work for Thor too.

Although the tonal shift between Shakespearean drama and Just Not That Into You-esque scenes with Dennings and Portman is a bit abrupt. Nevertheless, it goes some way to improving the reputation of this after those daft early stills.
