Unfortunately I cannot comment on many of the performances in the list, but I do agree with the ones of the films I have seen.

I'm on the fence with Hayley Atwell and that may be more of a commentary on the material as opposed to what she did with it.

I am such a fan of Jessica Barden. Ever since she stole all those scenes in Tamara Drewe, I was hopelessly enamoured with her talent. I look forward to her future works.

I just saw Attack the Block and John Boyega was outstanding. The review was spot on with all the casts' performances and very much like Underworld, the film itself could have stewed a few more months in the word processor before being put to film.

Elle Fanning's performance in Super 8 was outstanding, eventhough she is less of a natural in front of the camera compared to her sister Dakota. Be that as it may, she thoroughly impressed me with the strength of her performance.

Melissa McCarthy is one of those rare comedic actors who is bold enough to be brilliant. She has absolutely no self consciousness in front of the camera and that is what makes her so good at bringing her character's to life.

Excellent (if somewhat exhaustive) choices all around, iW staff. With the exception of Cumberbatch had a key role in 'Atonement' (alongside a red-haired Juno Temple), some of these folks were known quantities in other media. Bichir had a key role in "Weeds," and McCarthy was often excellent in "Samantha Who?" Ehle has long been a known quantity on stage and art house films, but you seem to have already forgotten she played Geoffrey Rush's wife in 'The King's Speech?' I do agree with SP that much ink has been overspilled on Woodley and McCarthy, but otherwise, nice write-ups.

Nothing "break through" related with French people from The Artist needless to say, they have been already quite done a good job in their home country. Elizabeth Olsen and Brit Marling are brilliant picks, they are just naturally talented and intelligent.

Really, really cool. I don't know how much of a breakthrough Atwell's role in Captain America is but she was one of the better things in it. Props for having Ehle there, she was almost better than Winslet which sounds crazy to just say. I'll never understand the love "Kill List" gets, cheapest ending to a film I've seen in a long, long time. If there was an award for this thing, Olsen is the one that deserves it with Chastain (no mention of Coriolanus? She was fantastic in that) and Colman coming a close second. Overall though, really great list.
