I love some of Del Toro's movies, I really don't give a shit about Adam Sandler (beside Punch-Drunk Love or Reign Over Me) and Despicable Me 2 is not that bad… but let's be honest : Pacific Rim is a bad, bad movie. Everyone is talking about the action, the robots, the SFX, and how much it's impressive. Sure, it is kind of fun. But the rest of the movie (and what is called "cinema") is just terrible. So I'm gonna watch this soulless garbage sink with a big smile. Because it's really not worth saving.

I don't think it's fair for critics to gage the future of film on Pacific Rim. It's just another fan boy movie with robots that does not really speak to a general audience. I love going to see summer movies and this is one I'm just not interested in. Instead, this weekend I chose to see Despicable Me 2 and it was delightful.
