The computer becomes self-aware and, using its control of the U.S. nuclear stockpile–as well as that of the Soviet Union which it gets by hooking up with the Soviet super computer–it sets itself up as a global policeman, forcing mankind to behave (in this it\’s also a little like the original \”The Day the Earth Stood Still\”).
