If this is anything to go by, this is gonna be the best year for Oscars since, I don\'t know, 2007 probably. Boyhood is not the best film of the year, but it\'s much more impressive then the last five or six winners. And if Birdman magically edges it - all the better. Simmons is an obvious and very worthy winner, Moore is overdue although I\'ve yet to see Alice and Arquette is better then people have given her credit for. Lubezki for the cinematography, Deakins would be a shoe-in had he done almost any of his previously nominated films this year, but it\'s not to be. Force Majeure is film far superior to Ida, but unfortunately the Academy didn\'t pick it. Nice that it got recognition here. And if Gyllenhaal was snubbed, then it should go to Keaton, rather then the painfully obvious Theory of My Left Foot, Rain Man, Forrest Gump, I am Sam fella. Critics\' know their biz.
