On the TV side, I\’d add Fargo to the mix. Both for the shoot-out in "Buridain\’s Ass" in the middle of a white-out blizzard and then in the next episode with the best action sequence you don\’t see. Where Lorne Malvo takes out the Fargo crime syndicate in their offices, yet all we see is the camera track across the reflective glass windows of the building. Only action we see is a window breaking and then a guy get thrown out another window on the top floor that lands next to Key and Peele\’s oblivious FBI agents.

Yeah, not to be redundant, but the docking scene from interstellar is a phenomenal example of editing and scoring a fairly conventional sequence to such an incredible degree it becomes a masterful highlight.

When I got to number 2 I stopped and thought: "What could be number 1?" I looked through the films I saw and instantly thought, Nightcrawler chase. Great choice. But! I also wondered if the scenes in Interstellar were action scenes, with the docking scene number 1. It is the most tense moment in a theater I\’ve had in a long time. And to second another comment here, how is the last hour of The Raid not just number 1? By the end of the final fight I was dodging punches.

Now these fight scenes may be pretty good, especially John Wick\’s, but I\’m still confused why the Kingsmans\’ cathedral scene isn\’t in here. It\’s better than all the fight scenes on this list combined, clearly.

Agree with everyone above me. The docking scene from Interstellar should definitely be on there. Not a lot of action, but the way it was filmed kept me on the edge of my seat more than any other scene this year. Also, you leave off Interstellar but put The Lego Movie at #3 for the whole year? Seriously?

I saw all these films, good list of actions scene films. Saw The Hobbit last Saturday with Peter Jackson and Lee Pace at the premiere. I will see A Most Violent Year next Monday. Hopefully American Sniper before Xmas also. Why Don\’t You Play in Hell is a wacked out Japanese film, saw it at tiff, I like Sion Sono films. John Wick was good too. Happy Holidays folks!
