I thought it was so well-paced – Ramping is brilliant and \’Geoff\’ just the right degree of infuriating – and yes, Katya definitely looked pregnant to me. What is the piece of sheet music she plays, rather than the other bit – does anyone know?

Howard: I\’m also wondering what piano piece Rampling is playing, and the best clue I\’ve found from googeling is that it\’s something by Liszt! Now I\’ll have to listen through the catalogue… 🙂

And yes, she was definitely pregnant. And the devastating look, maybe that she realized that nothing will ever be well between them again, no return?

Brilliant film and I did notice the pregnancy. Would need to watch the film again to be sure but my thought in the cinema was that the piano music played by Kate is Debussy\’s La Cathedrale Engloutie which would have been fitting as the cathedral of Kate\’s marriage was beginning to drown in a sea of doubt!

Brilliant, painful, true. But the continuity puzzled me – the trees and lanes gradually seem to change in the one week from February-bare to May-blossoming. This made me think that the "week" was symbolic rather than real. Is this deliberate?

I loved Haigh\’s Weekend and I think Rampling is one of cinema\’s most extraordinary, bold and under
appreciated actresses, so I am beyond excited to see this (having Tom Courtenay and Christophe Paou in the cast doesn\’t hurt, either)
