Ratner was trying to do his own film re: vegas and Jerry Weintraub/Soderbergh/Clooney beat him to it..he even came to them and asked that he be given an executive producer credit (?!) because he was working on his 'own' vegas heist film. He also tried to do this on the 'Che' films because he wanted to do his own bio pic but Soderbergh beat him to it. obviously in both cases…he go to credit for having the same idea as people who had read projects off the ground.
