Too Much shown in all the trailers or else the marketing got the huge first 2 weeks but that is what also forced the decline because almost everyone went to see it already. I\’ve never gone to see a movie in a theatre more then once myself no matter how good it is.

I finally saw this last night, and I was totally stunned that people think this movie is bad. I can imagine thinking it\’s slow or maybe not your cup of tea, but the hate that it\’s received it\’s coming from somewhere else. I thought it was a surprisingly rich meditation on post 9/11 America where in normal people suffer from the movement of mythological scaled events and personalities. Often very powerful, and constantly beautiful, this is a massive step forward for the genre and far superior to the mediocre Man of Steel.

@YEAH – just curious, how much do you think it costs to market a tentpole movie around the world? Also: I did as you suggested and I checked Forbes about this. Their latest article about it (April 6) states that the income rate return on BvS is 12 to 15 percent, with the film\’s final profit coming out to $126 million (pre-tax), which is, yes, less than \’Man of Steel\’ (and significantly less than the Bloomberg article estimated).

Theaters take a cut of profits and foreign box office the studio makes even less. Marketing for a film like this is massive. People just don\’t understand you can\’t just add domestic+foreign-budget. It\’s way more complicated than that. BatmanVSuperman is a huge disappointment box office wise.

I went to see Batman v Superman because I felt it would be a great movie between two iconic superheroes I grew up on and I wasn\’t disappointed. The critics can write all the negatives they want about this movie but I definitely got my money\’s worth. I would also ask others to see the movie and judge for themselves…

According to the news the this movie cost $250m+$150m (post production and marketing) in total.i.e. $400m. It only needs to reach $950m mark to earn as much as superman.

If something (like this one) was made for $250 million, then (because of marketing, exhibition, etc) it will cost them $500 million before they\’re in profit. Given that it\’s already at 723, I\’m not sure of the math here in this article. It\’s made 223 million and that\’s not counting the massive amounts it will make on bluray and pay per view, plus the soundtrack, plus merchandising, etc, etc, etc. The box office figures tell only part of the story.

What I suspect (based on similar articles in indiewire) that the writer based his/her story on a press from someone else. Do your homework, please. There\’s a very good article in Forbes about this.
