Multi-suits. Batman early in the film will have been basically retired for some time, perhaps even using drone-tech to patrol Gotham. Superman shows up and Batman gets out there again. Whether we see him in flashback or whether he just puts on an old suit first, we're likely to see at least one suit upgrade during the film. Recall Dark Knight Returns uses 3 notably different suits as the story progresses.

So basically, he saw a prototype version of the suit, claimed that he knew what it was going to look like in the finished film, was wrong, and is now trying to save face.
