Beauty Shop was a step up from the second film, but nothing more than a popcorn flick if there ever was one (and hey, it even features Kevin Bacon so at least people who play Six Degrees can make connections even easier!). How they expect to bring Queen Latifah back to the core film series is a bit odd, since she moved to Georgia in Beauty Shop (and had a kid of her own in that film, which is inexplicable considering that she had a bratty niece in Barbershop 2).

Assuming this actually happens as they expect it, it's going to need nothing short of a cameo appearance from Jesus to make it more than another sequel. Hopefully once they realize they don't have enough material to warrant it they'll rightfully put it out of its misery (as they did with the television series – which, Ridley involvement or not, was too radically removed from the first film to be truly enjoyable if you liked the film at all).
