I agree the key here is the scene where Dr. Strange saw only one successful outcome…and saving Tony’s life and turning over the time stone leads everyone down that particularly timeline – more than likely all the other timelines he protected the stone to the other characters deaths. I am generally not a fan of time travel in movies because there is almost always a ton of non-sense in them. (BttF is the exception – not that there isn’t any nonsense, but that I can accept the nonsense there.) However, Marvel keeps putting out wholy entertaining movies that work as a collective and as individuals, so I’m going to trust them here.

Errrrrm, clearly all the deaths at the end are going to get reversed because Black Panther and Spider-man have sequels coming. Knowing that makes the whole ending of Infinity War a phoney load of nonsense. Well done Marvel.

i feel exactly the same way. at first i was like “wtf? he wouldn’t do that just for Tony.” then i thought about it and remembered he’d said there was “one version of the future” that they one AND told Tony it was the only way… therefore… he saw that Tony was integral while the time stone and himself were not.

man that had to be a blow to his ego lol

I assumed Dr Strange did actually see the one way to defeat Thanos and not just the outcomes of the 14 million possibilities. I know this would make the films almost completely irrelevant if he knows exactly what has to happen, but that’s never stopped them before. Because when you think about it, Strange literally tells Stark “this was the only way” after he just handed his time stone over, something he would never have done. And then by allowing Thanos to complete his set of stones and wipe out half the universe, it was only until Fury saw the world in such chaos that he made the “call” to Captain Marvel. Therefore I do believe she’s key to the win because if Thanos never completed his mission, Fury May never have felt desperate enough to call on her.

Nebula is on Titan with Iron Man, so she possibly has a ship. And Star-Lord’s Milano is presumably still there.
