I liked Avatar. Did I say otherwise? I'm certainly not trying to diminish its success, as you claim.

I'm just saying that I wish they went by admissions so we can get a more accurate picture of how Avatar stacks up to other films, for example. As it stands, most of the current top-grossing films are from the past 10 years or so (because the price of movie tickets skyrocketed in the past 10-15 years). Of course the grosses of the blockbusters from years past can't hold a candle to today's prices.

Stop playing douchbag on the internet. This is an excellent achievement, stop trying to diminish it with nonsense.

The average ticket ISN'T $20. For fewer than 70% of theaters globally (others being in 2D), it's probably three to four dollars. Thus the average mark up is probably $2.50 to $3.00 when compared with other films. That's about 20%. Would you actually consider Avatar to be unsuccessful if it did $1.6 BILLION internationally?

People liked it, get over it. I'm sure it's not a conspiracy against you and your sensibilities.
