Starring Adam Scott and Kristen Wiig as well as real-life couple Westfeldt and Jon Hamm, the story reportedly centers on “a pair of thirty-something best friends who observe the toll that having kids has taken on the couples they know and resolve to bypass that stress by having a child and then dating other people.”

Scott and Westfeldt will play the lead couple with Hamm and Wiig play another, and Fox will play a girl Scott begins to date — not exactly the most challenging, typecast-breaking role, though apparently “when [Westfeldt] met with her, she thought Megan was spot on.” A third couple is currently being cast, which we guess may involve talent from an early script reading which featured the likes of Rebecca Creskoff, Rosemarie Dewitt, Noah Emmerich and Scott (who ended up being cast).

In a blog written by Doremus himself over at TheWrap, the director warns readers with a “shameless plug alert” before revealing that his latest film “‘Like Crazy’ comes out in early 2011.” The time frame certainly raises the prospect of a potential premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, where Doremus’ “Douchebag” was unveiled last year, and Lawrence garnered incredible buzz for her turn in Debra Granik’s “Winter’s Bone.”

“Like Crazy” was previously revealed to be “a mostly improvised drama that follows the long distance relationship of Jacob, an American, and Sam, a young British woman who meet while in college,” which should provide a great platform for the two actors to flourish.

Asked what’s on horizon, Norton recently revealed he is currently in the process of developing a mini-series adaptation of “Band Of Brothers” author Stephen Ambrose’s novel about the Lewis & Clark expedition, “Undaunted Courage,” hopefully for television.

“We’re trying to make this big — HBO is doing all these historical miniseries, which I think they’ve done an amazing job with a couple of them,” Norton told A.V.

The delay comes very late in the game with some reports that pre-production was in fact already underway for its planned 2011 shoot — up to 130 cars and bikes were reportedly constructed and some second unit sequences already shot.

The director, though, is definitely keeping an eye on the future, signing on to helm an adaptation of Philip Reeve’s 2006 sci-fi Victorian era fantasy children’s novel, “Larklight.” It’s an interesting choice for Alfredson, whose sensibilities would probably suggest a more mature line of work, but having turned heads with his story between an eternally youthful vampire and a 12 year old boy, we’re interested to see where he could take this.
