The video-game-to-movie adaptation is an ongoing problem in Hollywood. There is a plethora of games that fans would love to see on the big screen, but it never seems to go smoothly, and “Hitman” is just one title in the pantheon of failed video-game movies. An engaging tale of an assassin filling contract killings for the International Contracts Agency, the premise could’ve gone somewhere interesting, but unfortunately after two failed attempts, the “Hitman” movie series is seemingly finished (and honestly, “John Wick” is the hitman franchise kicking ass and taking names at the moment).

Terence Davies‘ upcoming biopic “A Quiet Passion” has a new UK trailer, bringing viewers a taste of the drama that follows the story of famed American poet Emily Dickinson played by Cynthia Nixon of “Sex and the City” fame.

The drama takes us into the life of Dickinson, with Davies delivering his third straight woman-led drama, following 2011’s “The Deep Blue Sea” and 2015’s “Sunset Song.” Here’s the official synopsis:

The story of 19th century American poet Emily Dickinson is brought to vivid life, in a remarkably sensitive biopic by director Terence Davies, exploring her early days as a young schoolgirl, through to her later years as a recluse.

Fresh off its debut at the Toronto International Film Festival last year, and following more fest appearances where it has been blowing critics away, “The Levelling,” led by “Game of Thrones” star Ellie Kendrick, has received its first official trailer. And it’s a picture we loved, with The Playlist’s own Oliver Lyttelton describing it as a “remarkable directorial debut.”

Taking place in Somerset, England, the movie follows Clover Catto (Kendrick) who receives a call telling her that her younger brother Charlie (Joe Blakemore) is dead.

Ryan Murphy of “American Horror Story” fame has begun casting for “Versace: American Crime Story.” Variety reports that Edgar Ramirez will play the lead character, Gianni Versace, whilst Darren Criss will play the role of his killer, Andrew Phillip Cunanan.

This will be the first time Edgar Ramirez enters the fold of American television, most recently appearing in “Gold“, alongside Matthew McConaughey.

“Agent Carter” star Hayley Atwell has found her next role in Kenneth Lonergan’s TV reworking of “Howards End.” The series will see Starz and BBC join up to produce the four-part mini series.

Atwell will play Marget Schlegel and line up alongside Matthew Macfayden (“Ripper Street“) and Tracey Ullman (“Into the Woods“) who have also signed on to the project.
