At the ripe young age of 90, veteran Hollywood composer John Williams says there’s still one more major film franchise he’d like to tackle: “James Bond.”

The composer behind iconic scores for such blockbusters as “Star Wars,” “Harry Potter,” “Jaws,” “E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial,” “Superman,” “Jurassic Park” and “Indiana Jones” — the fifth installment of which he’s currently working on — briefly opened up about the possibility of composing a 007 score in an interview with Classic FM (via the Guardian), saying only, “I’d love it” when asked if he’d be interested in the opportunity.

“The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” star Ismael Cruz Córdova is the first person of color to play an elf in a screen adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien‘s groundbreaking fantasy series — and as the actor himself tells it, the public reception to his casting hasn’t been all warm and fuzzy.

In a new interview with Esquire, Córdova says he’s been forced to contend with “pure and vicious hate speech” from a slew of real-life trolls in the two years since his part in the franchise was announced.

Screenwriter Billy Ray has confirmed that a sequel to Nicole Kidman‘s viral AMC Theatres ad is already in the works.

“I got a text from the chairman of AMC about a month ago asking me if I would write the next one, and of course the answer to that is yes,” Ray told Vanity Fair. “It’s already written.”

The Oscar-nominated screenwriter, known for penning films like “The Hunger Games,” “Richard Jewell,” “Flightplan” and “Captain Phillips,” was brought to the AMC project by Kidman, with whom he’d previously worked on the 2015 film “Secret in Their Eyes” and Adrian Lyne‘s forthcoming adaptation of author A.S.A Harrison‘s “The Silent Wife.”

Ray added that when Kidman first asked him to write the ad, he decided to do it “as a favor” — that is, until his agent got involved.

Paul Schrader is under no illusions about “Master Gardener,” the sure-to-be-divisive final chapter in an informal trilogy that kicked off with 2017’s “First Reformed” and continued with last year’s “The Card Counter.” For starters: the film centers on a former white supremacist (played by Joel Edgerton) and his attempts at redemption.

“This one is going to piss people off,” Schrader told IndieWire of the film, which premiered out of competition this weekend at the Venice Film Festival, where the auteur is also being given a lifetime achievement award.

Amazon has suspended user ratings for Prime Video’s blockbuster fantasy series “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” due to targeting of the show by “review bombing” trolls, according to a new report over at The Hollywood Reporter.

A source told THR that user reviews for “The Rings of Power” are being held for 72 hours to ensure their legitimacy and keep trolls at bay, adding that the policy is one Prime Video started this summer on all of its shows to avoid instances of “review bombing” — i.e.

In the latest “Aquaman” sequel tease for fans, star Jason Momoa revealed the character’s new, upgraded suit via a slideshow and story posted to the actor’s official Instagram account on Sunday.

Margaret Qualley and Christopher Abbott will star in the Zachary Wigon-directed thriller “Sanctuary,” which just finished shooting in New York, Variety reports.

Set in a hotel room over the course of a single night, “Sanctuary” centers on a dominatrix (Qualley) and her wealthy client Hal (Abbott), who is on the cusp of inheriting his father’s fortune and position. When he tries to cut ties with Qualley’s character, “disaster ensues.”
