“Inception,” “Memento,” “Interstellar” – whenever Christopher Nolan‘s name is attached to a project, it carries the promise of a cinematic behemoth. All has been relatively quiet on the director’s front since 2017 when “Dunkirk“ appeared to audiences in breathtaking 70mm. But now, just days before the year ends, the trailer for the new Nolan film has appeared: the super-secretive “Tenet.”

Who you gonna call…when “Ghostbusters” comes back to the screen in summer 2020? Now titled “Ghostbusters: Afterlife,” Ivan Reitman, director of the original 1984 blockbuster and its 1989 sequel, is returning to produce the film, while son Justin Reitman (“Juno,” “Up in the Air,” “Tully“) will co-write and direct. The younger Reitman’s accolades include a Golden Globe, a BAFTA, and a Writers Guild (among others) for his 201o “Up in the Air.” The world of “Ghostbusters” is undoubtedly familiar to the younger Reitman, as he reportedly spent time as a child on the sets of the original films.

“Breaking Bad” fans, hold your introductory meth lab kits. After months of secrecy about a “Breaking Bad” feature set to hit Netflix and AMC sometime in 2020, the haze the project lived under for months was finally lifted earlier this fall. Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) is back, and he’s going to star in a sequel called, “El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie.” As the new teaser demonstrates, unveiled tonight during the Emmy broadcast, “El Camino” picks up just hours after the events of the “Breaking Bad” finale– the Alberqurque police putting out an APB bulletin about Pinkman’s whereabouts, though they obviously don’t know his identity.

Martin Scorsese‘s newest passion project is finally here: “The Irishman.” The film covers the real story of Frank “The Irishman” Sheeran, a labor union leader and infamous mafia hitman of the 1940s. Much of Sheeran’s notoriety today comes from a death-bed confession, where he claimed that he had murdered fellow union leader Jimmy Hoffa. The complex story of murder, war, and mystery will be upfront and center in Scorsese’s new feature, and as announced earlier this week, it’ll be making its world premiere at the New York Film Festival in late September.
