					<description><![CDATA[Regarding Hunger: &#039;Still, it&#039;s quite a pretentious thing to do&#039;. This is one of the best acted scenes in film history, and shooting it in one take required retrofitting a camera so it could hold twice as much film (standard magazine is only 10 minutes max). It&#039;s one of the most vital, least gimmicky uses of a long take. The only pretention I detect is the narrator.

Regarding Children of Men: &#039;The audience.. doesn&#039;t even notice it&#039;s a continuous shot&#039;. That&#039;s because it isn&#039;t. They stitched together short takes, as they also did with the battle scene at the end, the opening of Gravity, and of course all of Birdman. Who ever edits together Lubezki&#039;s &#039;long takes&#039; should get at least as much credit as him.]]></description>
