It's one thing to whine about something like making Heimdall or the Human Torch a minority... but Falcon was probably one of the most significant hero team ups in Captain America history, including headlining with him for a good portion of a decade. His presence underlines the idea that a diverse America can stand up for what is right, regardless of race, faction, or politics. Yes, they HAD to include Falcon... the bow-for-hire hitman that follows SHIELD orders regardless of morality would absolutely NOT fit into the main theme of the movie, as Black Widow was already busy with handling the "teetering-on-the-line" role nicely. Besides, they did a fantastic job with Falcon in general... what's there really to complain about?

Emperor Zerg rush...why wouldn't they bring in falcon? Falcon is a pretty
Important character in ultimate captain America which these movies are modeled after.
There was like no minorities in Thor or the first captain America so I doubt that is their reasoning

Sowing the seeds. Though the thought of someone sewing them is amusing.

Also that excuse for not using Hawkeye is really... flimsy. They HAD to bring in Falcon? I call bullshit on that. They had to bring in another actor to meet their minority quota apparently (Jackson and Cheadle apparently not being enough to assuage their fears of angry boycotters) seems more likely.

Even if he isn't blowing smoke, I hope they do find something to do with Hawkeye, aka "that guy who was in the Avengers on the active roster and got criminally underused because seemingly outside of the confines of a comic book no one knows how to write him effectively for his transition to the big screen (if I were Renner I'd definitely be ready to pull a Terrence Howard at this point).
