There really is no point in forcing it through if they can't get all the right pieces in place. Cuaron can tinker with the script and budget and come up with something that will work with Johansson or one of the others. In its present form it always sounded iffy without Jolie even with RDJ. Jolie has always marched to the beat of a different drummer…if Cuaron had placed the character's daughter in an Afghan/Iraqi/some other godforsaken refugee camp he might have gotten her interested.
