Pretty great film produced by Mel Brooks, directed by Freddie Francis (who lensed some of Lynch's earlier work like "The Elephant Man", also produced by Brooks) and based on a older screenplay by Dylan Thomas. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0089034/
