First ya’ll start bagging on Young Hercules, because he thought about taking a mainstream role that would get seen by more than his typical audience of 5 people (Horrors). Now ya’ll are dissing Renner, 40ish geezer, who might fear his sudden good fortune coming to just as sudden an end in ageist Hollywood. There are younger, prettier actors (like Young Hercules) zooming up on Renner’s tail. Now is the time to feather his nest and get, while the getting is good.

Ice Age doesn\’t really count. He\’ll spend a week in a recording booth and nobody in the target audience will know it\’s him. He\’ll collect a nice tidy packet of cash for his troubles.

He can\’t really be faulted for this. He\’s 40 and has spent most of his career in minor productions. Now he\’s got his big chance at fame and fortune, so he\’s grabbing it with both hands. Fair enough.

I think Ice Age really does count. I\’m not hating on Renner for doing it, but people are going to see the movie and it\’s just kind of a lame move on his part, so I guess I am hating on him.

When you put your name on a project it means something. I was just looking at Michelle Williams\’ imdb page and admiring her choices. Could she voice some animated movie? Absolutely. But when your name\’s on a poster, you have a responsibility to say, \”This movie is good.\” Otherwise, you\’re just cashing checks and kind of being an asshole.

He was gonna make a movie with the \”There Will Be Blood\” guy but the \”There Will Be Blood Guy\” couldn\’t get financing.

HAHAHAHA awesome article, I love it!

I don\’t think voicing Ice Age 4 will sink any ships for him, but I think he should break up the tentpoles with some more substantial work. It\’s not like actors decide what they\’re offered, and he\’s been grinding at the acting game for decades (I would\’ve offed myself a LONG time ago, in his shoes), so I trust the dude to do what\’s right for him.
