Who said bidding war? No one but you. Amazon just plunked down more money then most can offer and if you\’ve been paying an ounce of attention you\’d know streaming invaders are doing this everywhere now. What does SWATH or anything else have to do with it?

Sony obviously passed on this, they\’re not distributing it. Bidding war? LMAO. Where\’s your proof of that? They didn\’t have enough of an interest in it to put their money down, did they? Amazon is already producing Woody\’s TV series, so they stepped in to pick this up. The point still stands that no studio has hired Stewart since her affair with her married director derailed the SWATH sequel. Maybe Universal spread the word that she was a loose cannon and no other studio would trust her in a big budget film. In any case, she hasn\’t been cast in one since then.

Uhh, Sony didn\’t pass on sh*t. Amazon clearly outbid them. SPC were just talking how streaming invaders are throwing around big money but were suspicious if they could sustain doing so. In the short term, yes.

It\’s so odd that Sony passed on this. Makes me wonder if Kristen Stewart having a leading role influenced their decision. No big studio has wanted to be associated with her since Universal fired her from their SWATH franchise back in 2012. She\’s wrung every last drop out of her indies which some critics touted, but so far she isn\’t being cast in any big budget studio films, and now Sony passes on this after distributing all of Woody\’s other films. Strange.
