Last week we dropped the full tracklisting for the forthcoming “Almost Alice” soundtrack, a companion album (we hope) of songs for the forthcoming Tim Burton CGI-fest, “Alice In Wonderland.”
The horrible, cash-grab idea finds emo-whiners, pop-punkers, people we’ve never heard of, and people who should know better (we’re looking right at you Franz Ferdinand and Robert Smith) writing songs presumably “inspired by” the film. Only Smith’s song has any real connection to the franchise, being a cover of the song featured in the 1951 animated film.
Anyway, the cover for the album has been revealed and it’s just as uninspired as the tracklist. It seems slapping a wacky font on Johnny Depp’s head is what passes for artwork these days. Though, put Depp’s face on anything and it’ll sell.
