Although I am a big fan of both, I would rather not see Duvall or Nicholson in this role. Just kinda seems \”been there, seen that\”. I would love, and welcome, Hackman back in a top level film, with a top notch director. My personal choice would be the GREAT and underrated Michel Parks, but again not a big enough name. If Parks did get this role I would put money down, before a frame is shot, that he would grab an oscar nom for this role. He just needs a film like this to put him out there. As far as the choice between Affleck or Rudd…Rudd hands down. I just think he would be great in a Payne film. And maybe his name would be big enough alone that Payne can cast anyone he wants in the leading role.
