What I don't understand–why would Birdman be given the closing night at NYFF, arguably the second most prestigious, if it had already been screened at Telluride or surprise @ TIFF while giving Inherent Vice a crap center slot for it's worldwide premiere. Don't get me wrong, NYFF is great, but this Birdman selection really confuses me if it's not an actual premiere.

Figured as much with Birdman. If it was actually shot in a single take, then it would've had a super-short shooting schedule, right?

Knowing Nolan's tight secrecy, I doubt it will play at any of the festivals. AFI Fest, maybe to coincide with the world premiere, but I'd be very surprised if it went to New York.

I was hoping for Interstellar. Birdman sounds excellent but for some reason, I'm not as excited as I was when Gone Girl and Inherent Vice were announced.
