Has anything happened some 2 years later in regards to this film being released ? Like Joe mentioned it may not be worth the legal hassle... to have this film see the light of day. That is too bad for all music lovers, and devoted fans of Grand Funk some 40 years later.

Regarding the film on Grand Funk Railroad, I believe the issue behind it not being released probably has to do with the legal entanglements between the band and their late manager, Terry Knight.

Back in the 70s, a judge awarded Knight rights to pretty much everything Grand Funk produced. The film may still be joint property and one or more of the parties may be holding back the film in order to keep the others from getting the profits.

Several years ago, I tried, via email, to get Mr. Maysles together with Don Brewer from Grand Funk, but it obviously didn\'t come to fruition.

The primary subject of the film is Grand Funk\'s sell-out concert at Shea Stadium back in 1971. Many of us fans would pay dearly to see the finished product. A few of us have been lucky enough to see some of the raw footage and it looked great.
