you nailed it in your last paragraph. unfortunately, not every theater owner is Tim League, but more reflective of every day Americans struggling to keep the lights on, told they would go out of business if they didn\’t sell the farm to convert to digital. It\’s easy for people to say "show both" but less possible for those who are barely clinging to life in order to do a digital conversion and keep their doors open.

I wish the studios would release each tentpole as a 35mm screening along with digital and have the option. I would even pay an extra buck for it. Just like there\’s the OPTION to see something imax, or 3d.. there should be an option for film. they can still release digitally for 80% of the screens..
