There were a couple clearly misogynistic scenes in that film that basically said "in this alliance, you white liberals need us more than we need you". There were a few write ups about how Dre had hit some women in his life, including by the journalist who he actually struck, but liberal writers and columnists were mostly silent about the misogyny. Gray was basically daring them to say something and endanger the alliance. Brilliant move, and Straight Outta Compton ended up being a huge money maker. I\’m surprised the conservatives didn\’t use that opportunity more to their advantage.
