Can twins successfully bring their parents back together? That sounds like the plot of “The Parent Trap,” but the similarities between that film and “Dicks: The Musical” (previously known as “F*cking Identical Twins“) end there. The new A24 film updates that old formula to instead present two adult businessmen with a similar secret. And with legendary director Larry Charles (“Seinfeld,” “Borat“) at the helm, expect this film to be full of laughs.

Comedy writers Aaron Jackson and Josh Sharp lead the cast in “Dicks: The Musical,” as two businessmen who discover they’re twins and set up an ill-fated reunion with their long-lost parents. Here’s the film’s official synopsis, courtesy of A24:
Two self-obsessed businessmen (writers Aaron Jackson & Josh Sharp) discover they’re long-lost identical twins and come together to plot the reunion of their eccentric divorced parents, in this riotously funny and depraved musical from comedy icon Larry Charles.
“Dicks: The Musical” also stars Megan Thee Stallion, Nathan Lane, Megan Mullally, and Bowen Yang. It’s Megan Thee Stallion’s first film role after TV roles on “Good Girls” and “She-Hulk: Attorney At Law,” among others. As for Yang, the “Saturday Night Live” cast member plays God in the film.
So will “Dicks: The Musical” be another comedic hit for Larry Charles? It’s his first film since 2016’s little-seen “Army Of One,” but remember, this guy did “Borat” “Brüno,” and “The Dictator” with Sacha Baron Cohen, so expect his latest to be just as laugh-out-loud depraved. “Dicks: The Musical” hits theaters everywhere on September 29 before it premieres at TIFF earlier that month.
