Juno Temple has been on the verge of breaking out for quite a while. This year’s “Dirty Girl” should have been a big moment for her, but it didn’t get much of a release by the Weinstein Company. But not to worry, as Christopher Nolan is going to shine a spotlight on her in next summer’s “The Dark Knight Rises.” This winter, though, Temple will be filming “Lovelace,” the biopic of the infamous porn star, playing the best friend of Linda Lovelace, a role earmarked for Amanda Seyfried. “American Beauty” actor Wes Bentley has also joined the film, and will take on the role of Linda’s second husband, Larry Marchiano.
This film is not the one Lindsay Lohan was previously attached to. You’re thinking of “Inferno,” which has cast “Watchmen” actress Malin Ackerman as Linda and Matt Dillon as her husband. Both films start filming in January, but we definitely give the edge to "Lovelace," which also features a solid supporting cast with Peter Sarsgaard as Linda’s first husband and Sharon Stone as her mom.
And oh yeah, Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman are behind the camera. They’re the filmmaking team behind the Oscar-winning documentaries “Common Threads: Stories from the Quilt” and the documentary that makes “Milk” feel superfluous, “The Times of Harvey Milk." As for "Lovelace," synopsis is as follows: “Set between the birth of the sexual revolution and the culmination of the feminist movement, 'Lovelace' depicts the life of Linda Boreman, who as 'Linda Lovelace' became the world's first erotic superstar.” Her life was a fascinating one, one of porn's first bonafide stars who later accused her husband of violently forcing her into the business, and later became one of the most vocal voices against XXX films.
Temple will add this pic to the number of films she has coming up including: "Little Birds," "Jack and Diane," "The Brass Teapot," "Small Apartments," William Friedkin's "Killer Joe" and Sebastian Silva's thriller follow-up to “The Maid,” called “Magic Magic” co-starring Michael Cera. Meanwhile, Bentley continues to build back his career after struggling with a drug addiction, with roles in this film, "The Hunger Games" and another Seyfried outing in the thriller "Gone," things are looking up.
