However, our differences of opinion can be summed up as thus: you failed to mention Wall E or Up as best films of their respective years, only nodding to Up in your mention of Michael Giacchino's score on the soundtracks list. On the other hand, I wouldn't have hesitated to mention them. You seem to have an aversion to the mainstream which creates a bias in your writing.

Daybreakers-for a 20 million dollar budget, they actually delivered in bringing about a world in which vamps have taken over. The antithesis to Twilight. That alone should qualify it as good.

The Crazies-The military actually does play a pretty big role, and the consequences of the military's ruthlessness in trying to contain the infection is addressed in a rather jarring manner. Overall a very creepy movie.

Cop-Out- Actually funny as hell. I wouldn't rate it nearly as high as anything else Kevin Smith has done, and I want to smack Tracy Morgan in the face with a meat mallet, but if a comedy makes me laugh, then I won't complain about it.

How to Train Your Dragon- Excellent movie with something I haven't ever seen in full force in a Dreamworks film before: heart. Not as good as Pixar. But definitely a full staircase above most other Dreamworks projects.

Kick-Ass- Great, great movie. From what I've read about the comic book, much lighter in tone, and while addressing the real life consequences of vigilantism, an overall happy film with great jokes, references to other comic books and movies, and very good action scenes. There's a shot of Kick-Ass cleaning his face off after being beaten and tortured by the mob which looked like it was lifted out of the best "beaten up hero" panels in comic books.

As for the others on your list, yes, they were mediocre at best and affronts to cinema at worst.

Ah… You may not want to be so judgemental before half of these movies even have legit non-teaser trailers.

Like Creation… I saw that at the TIFF film festival, and it might be a bit slow, but it is a fantastic movie.

Again, a lot of things on your list look truly awful, but c'mon… be a bit fair… you know nothing more about the movies than what you wrote in the blurbs and that isn't very much…

I wrote that back at the end of '08, and at this point, I wish I could rescind it, as I have seen the light, Nic Cage will be the best part of "Kick-Ass." That might still be faint praise, but the man brings the goods.

Clash of the Titans vs. Prince of Persia. One movie looks like a cheap ripoff. The other has monsters, creatures, rock music and Liam Neeson releasing the Kraken. Easy choice there.

I wanna be positive about Bunraku, which I had originally read finished shooting at the close of '07, but that must have been an error. Still, that cast is HIGHLY questionable in their taste for projects.

Then eventually ones we've already seen at film festivals and a few "dare to dream" (some that were possible 2010 films when we started planning this in the fall, but are now prolly coming out 2011).

However, I was puzzled as to why you trashed "Drag Me To Hell". I didn't read your review, but if you didn't like it that's fine. But, you refer to Raimi's decision to direct it as a "cash grab". I don't know how you can say that. His fee for "Hell" was probably 1/10th that of "Spiderman" and if you watched the film–regardless of your opinion of it–it was obvious the flick was a passion project for him.
