Garden State references aside, 500 Days of Summer stifles the viewer with too much soundtrack. This is exactly what Will Oldham was talking about in his interview with the AV Club.

Can the Garden State comments rampant on the web be any more fucking obvious? It's like indie comedy + some indie music = Garden State = laaaazy.
